S. Macarius of Ger. - S. Simplicio

Dt 10, 15-20, Ps 1, Lk 9, 22-25
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord

+ Lk 9, 22-25
The Son of man, he said, must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be messo a morte e risorgere il terzo giorno».
1 Cor 2, 10).
Era necessario that Christ's suffering (Lk 24, 26), and could not do it, as he said. That is called fools and slow of mind who did not know that Christ had to suffer and so enter into his glory. He came for the salvation of his people. For he was deprived, in a sense, of the glory that had with the Father before the world was. Salvation was the event that was to mature through the passion of the author of life. The St. Paul teaches: He is the author of life, made perfect through suffering (Heb 2, 10).
The glory of the Only Begotten, Poim that he had left for us, he was returned through the cross, in the flesh he had taken. He says St. John in his Gospel when he says the water which was spoken of by the Savior will flow like a river from the bosom of those who believe.
said this about the Spirit that they would receive who believed in him: in fact there was no Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified (cf. Jn 7, 38-39), and calls glory of death on the cross. Therefore the Lord, and poured out prayers before suffering the cross, begging the Father to be glorified with the glory I had with him, before the world existed.
